"Where do I even start with this?! I have no way to make this a short review, because I really want to convey how AMAZING Abhi and his team are!! If I had to sum it up in a single word, it would be CARE. Everything was taken care of for me, to the point where Abhi almost knew what I was thinking/needing before I asked. He is a legend! I was a single female traveller from Australia, visiting Nepal for the first time. Abhi met with me the first morning I arrived, and detailed out the plan he had made for my stay in Nepal. Within 2 minutes of meeting him, he asked if I needed a coffee (YES!) and asked what I normally drank. I said “strong long black”. He immediately asked a hotel staff member for a “double shot Americano” - he knew instantly how to “translate” my Australian into something the Nepalese would understand! I spent about a week in Kathmandu where Abhi personally showed me around, not only to the typical tourist spots, but also showed me around some of the more local places that tourists wouldn’t normally see. He took me shopping for all of my trekking gear, and organised good discounts! He took me to eat Dahl Baht (traditional Nepal meal that you eat with your hands!!) and other Nepalese food, and even took me salsa dancing (which was my suggestion). He would come to my hotel around 9am each morning and take me out for the day - but before we did anything, he always checked in to see how I was feeling, did I need a rest etc. Every decision he made for me, or every location he took me to was thoughtfully considered, with utmost care for what I needed at that particular time/day. He organised a 4 day trip to Chitwan for me, plus all activities there, and all flights, drivers and was in close communication with me the whole time, making sure I was OK. He personally came to the airport to get me when I arrived back from Chitwan, even though I had a driver. By this point, I really understood how much Abhi goes above and beyond for his clients. Then it was time for the trek. I did ZERO preparation mentally and physically for this trek (don’t judge lol), so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. There was a point where the mountains were so HUGE, right in front of me… I cried, and stood there for 30 mins just staring, trying to comprehend what I was looking at. This moment will be forever etched in my mind. The trek we did was 8 days all up, getting a helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla, then trekking for 7 days with the final location being Gokyo Ri, and we got to a height of 5370m. We got a helicopter back to Lukla, then a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. During the trek, Abhi and his employee Gaurav took care of absolutely EVERYTHING for me, from unpacking my bag each night, setting up my bedding, ordering me food and drinks, and then re-packing my bag each morning. Both of them were constantly checking in with me to make sure I was feeling OK and to see if I needed anything. There was a few days where the altitude was getting to me (headaches, nausea, fatigue, and digestive issues, all manageable, but nonetheless there) and Abhi told me what to eat, drink, when to rest (acclimatise) and even when I had no appetite for 4 days, they would both coax me into eating, and explained why etc. Abhi checked my blood pressure on day 5 (I was fine) and also gave me paracetamol when I needed it, and always made sure I was drinking enough water. Abhi and Gaurav also carried everything for me, and when I say everything - I mean my GoPro, bottle of water etc. It was like I had a personal assistant everywhere I went - I joked with them about how I don’t know how I’m going to be able to go back to my own life after their support and care. Not only were all the logistics taken care of, I genuinely had the most fun I have had in a long time. Both Abhi and Gaurav are smart, educated men, who are both deep thinkers and more than capable of having a deep, and/or intellectual conversation. I learned a lot about the both of them, and one thing that stood out for me was that Abhi is genuinely motivated to help the communities where he treks, and I know that part of his profits go to a charity organisation that Abhi has set up to help educate children in the smaller villages, and also help the sherpas with shoes and things they need to do their job. It felt nice to know that not only was I being cared for, but that part of my money was going toward helping others that genuinely need it. I returned to Kathmandu, and then I was off to Pokhara - Abhi organised everything there too, from accommodation, all activities (the highest swing in the world, zip line, paragliding) and he even sent Gaurav with me to take care of anything I might need while I was there. They were both great at knowing when I needed something, or if I just wanted to spend some time on my own. I am travelling the world for 16 weeks, and I have a feeling that the 21 days in Nepal will be the highlight of my world trip. I really fell in love with the place, and the people. My experience was so wonderful because of how amazing the Adventure Kora team were. I’m coming back next year!!"
